Salvare

Salvare

Salvare vineyard possesses an excellent sandy loam over gravel soil and is perfectly suited to ripening premium Chardonnay. This vineyard has always made exceptional Chardonnay and when new the owners Steve and Bev Nathan purchased the property they saw the potential of creating their own brand.  In 2009 their excellent Cellar Door was voted the best in the region. Winemaking is left in the capable hands of Elise Montgomery.  Their portfolio is filled out by Syrah, Merlot and Viognier made with fruit from other local vineyards.  It is amazing to think of the incredible quality of the Chardonnay grown on this “Red Triangle” while only 1km away Syrah is ripened on the Gimblett Gravels. Imagine great white Burgundy and great Red Rhone as neighbours, but it’s true!
